Our Staff Members
Rob Fairbanks | lead pastor
Rob has spent the majority of his adult life pastoring and planting churches in Spokane and around the world. Rob was the founding pastor of New Community, a larger church in the Spokane area that has been involved in launching six other churches. After several years working with the para-church organization, Christian Associates, Rob returned to full-time pastoring with the founding of Immanuel. Rob and his wife Robi have lived in Spokane for many years and have three children: Zac, Karli and Trey. He holds a doctoral degree with an emphasis in missional church leadership and serves as an adjunct professor at Whitworth University where he teaches on the subject. Rob’s view of church ministry isn’t complicated – he wants to start churches for people who don’t like church; ones that are beautiful expressions of the Kingdom of God, churches that actually understand a missional/incarnational orientation to our existence. Rob is also a fan of Gonzaga Basketball, the Seattle Seahawks and enjoys superhero movies.
Leslie McAuley | Associate Pastor
Leslie has been in citywide ministry for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications. When she came to Spokane in 1991, she worked for Social Security Administration for 25 years. She was bi-vocational as she co-pastored Antioch Church. Leslie returned to school at Whitworth University and completed her Master’s in Theology degree in May 2018. She has spent the last two years pursuing the ministry of reconciliation and has been in various reconciliation initiatives about which she is passionate. Leslie’s interests include developing communities that openly communicate about race, denomination, social economic, gender and generational issues. Leslie is married, has four daughters and two grandchildren.
Scott Ingersoll | coordinator of music and worship
Scott has been leading worship and playing music professionally for many years. Scott grew up in the Northwest before attending Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. He and his wife, Juliann, remained in California for several years after, where Scott wrote and recorded music, while also leading worship at Sea Coast Grace Church in Cypress, California. Upon relocating to Spokane in 2013, Scott and Juliann became affiliated with Immanuel, and Scott joined the staff as the coordinator of music and worship in 2014. When not leading worship, Scott continues to write and perform original music under the name ‘Scott Ryan,’ works as production manager at The Bartlett music venue and also works with the non-profit, ‘Songs for Kids Foundation,’ coordinating a team of local musicians who perform at Children’s Hospitals. He loves to hang out with his kids Benson and Brynlee, chat about Star Wars, and is a Mario Kart champion.
Alicia Powell | kid’s community director

Alicia and her husband Curtis are parents to two beautiful girls, Fenna and Opal, and their family joined Immanuel last year after returning from serving and teaching in the Dominican Republic.
